Hollow-Fiber UF Modules
Define operation and cleaning around feed quality, permeate targets and inside-out or outside-in configuration.
UF & MBR / Hollow-Fiber MBR Modules
Match the module to sludge conditions, aeration and the membrane-bioreactor layout.

A curtain MBR module arranges hollow fibres within a frame, typically immersed in activated-sludge mixed liquor. Biological treatment transforms biodegradable contaminants, while the membrane separates sludge from permeate. These roles are distinct. Fibre spacing, air distribution and sludge condition jointly influence fouling control, so membrane area alone cannot predict sustained production.
| Selection factor | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Sludge environment | Concentration, viscosity, fibrous debris and oily matter affect fibre passages and fouling. |
| Module layout | Packing density must work with even aeration; excessive density can create poorly swept zones. |
| Maintenance interfaces | Collection, aeration, lifting and cleaning arrangements must fit the tank and equipment. |

Interpret transmembrane pressure, production and sludge condition together within the validated operating cycle.
Inspect fibres, joints and collection paths, then assess integrity and quality after cleaning.
No. It mainly separates solids, while dissolved-contaminant treatment relies on biological and other processes.
Dimensions, connections, aeration, flux and cleaning conditions also need to match.
