Hollow-Fiber MBR Modules
Match the module to sludge conditions, aeration and the membrane-bioreactor layout.
UF & MBR / Ultrafiltration Modules
Define operation and cleaning around feed quality, permeate targets and inside-out or outside-in configuration.

A hollow-fibre UF module packages many selective membrane fibres with feed and collection connections. Water crosses the fibre wall while suitable suspended particles and colloids are separated. Inside-out and outside-in configurations change the feed contact area and cleaning path. UF serves a defined separation task; it is not equivalent to desalination or guaranteed removal of every virus.
| Selection factor | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Flow configuration | Lumen geometry, feed loading and discharge arrangement affect blockage and operating strategy. |
| Feed character | Turbidity, oil, oxidants and seasonal variation matter alongside average flow. |
| Operating connections | Filtration, backwash, air and waste paths must match the module’s supported modes. |

| Material options | Membrane-specific |
| Filtration objective | Define what to remove and what to retain |
| Rating / Dimensions | Confirm combinations against controlled model specifications |
| Flow / Temperature / Pressure | Specify normal and limiting operating conditions |
| Connections / Seals | Confirm installation interfaces and wetted materials |
| Cleaning / Validation | Confirm the service cycle and acceptance criteria |

Track temperature-normalised permeability, transmembrane pressure and filtrate quality to distinguish cooling from fouling.
Select a deposit-specific procedure within module limits, then assess recovery and integrity.
Conventional UF generally does not provide effective desalination and needs a separate process for that objective.
No. Virus characteristics, membrane integrity and validation conditions all matter.
