A gas-filter housing supports and seals elements used for particle, droplet or specifically validated microbial-control duties. These tasks require different media. Because gases are compressible, flow must state its pressure and temperature basis. Tank breathing differs from pressurised transfer in direction and demand. Condensate can reduce active area and increase pressure drop, requiring drainage and backflow management.
| Selection factor | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Task definition | Particle removal, coalescence and validated microbial retention are distinct requirements. |
| Flow basis | Standard and actual volumetric flow differ; provide gas composition, pressure and temperature. |
| Installation | Breathers must address inward and outward flow, while pipeline units also face operating pressure and condensate. |
| Category | Filter Housings |

| Material options | Configuration-specific |
| Filtration objective | Define what to remove and what to retain |
| Rating / Dimensions | Confirm combinations against controlled model specifications |
| Flow / Temperature / Pressure | Specify normal and limiting operating conditions |
| Connections / Seals | Confirm installation interfaces and wetted materials |
| Cleaning / Validation | Confirm the service cycle and acceptance criteria |

Monitor differential pressure and condensation; liquid-covered membranes can restrict ventilation.
Depressurise correctly and prevent liquid backflow or contamination during servicing.
No. Use gas-service conditions and suitable pressure-flow information.
Particle media are not universal adsorbents; vapour removal requires a separate process assessment.
