A stainless-steel cartridge housing provides pressure containment, sealing and connections for replaceable elements. The housing does not define filtration rating; the effective path includes cartridges, interface seals, compression hardware and inlet/outlet passages. Single- and multi-element layouts address different flows, while venting, drainage and cleaning access influence startup, replacement and retained liquid after shutdown.
| Selection factor | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Cartridge interface | Compression, plug-in and locking designs need their matching seals and supports, even at equal length. |
| Wetted materials | Steel grade, surface condition and elastomers must all suit the fluid. |
| Service layout | Vent and drain positions, opening method and withdrawal clearance affect maintenance. |

Specifications & documents ↗Seat every element correctly and close unused positions as the housing design requires.
Vent gradually to prevent gas pockets that reduce effective area or distort pressure readings.
Isolate, depressurise and drain before inspecting seals and signs of corrosion or damage.
Higher resistance may shift the operating point and require more area or different pumping.
Geometry, finish, drainability, seals and required documentation matter in addition to the metal designation.
