PES Membrane Rolls
Evaluate membrane material for discs and filter assemblies against the actual fluid and assembly process.
MEMBRANES / PVDF Membranes
Define surface properties, support layers and target use when evaluating materials and filter assemblies.

PVDF microporous rollstock can support different applications through surface treatment and backing choices. Hydrophilic filtration media, hydrophobic media and high-binding transfer membranes should not be grouped solely by polymer name. For filtration devices, pore structure, wetting and material background jointly determine suitability. Biological applications also need a clear decision on whether the target should pass through or remain on the membrane.
| Selection factor | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Surface state | Hydrophilic and hydrophobic grades start differently; blotting requires its own material selection. |
| Mechanical support | Backing and thickness influence pleating, cutting and seal formation. |
| Target interaction | Assess adsorption with the actual protein or formulation rather than assuming behaviour from PVDF alone. |

Verify active area and edge seals; local stretching can affect pore structure.

No. Surface modification and intended use can substantially change binding behaviour.
Their objectives differ, so matching nominal pore size does not establish equivalence.
