A PES capsule encloses pleated membrane, supports and connectors in an integrated housing ready for a liquid line. It reduces on-site assembly compared with a separate cartridge and housing, while fixing hold-up, venting and connection geometry within the chosen model. Aqueous processing should balance recovery, particulate loading and membrane area. Sterilising duties require the appropriate grade and process-specific evidence.
| Selection factor | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Area and recovery | More area distributes loading, but valuable fluids also require assessment of retained volume. |
| Connections | Tubing, quick-connect and other interfaces affect assembly and sealing. |
| Membrane grade | Particle control and sterilising duties require different evidence; PES alone is not a sterilising designation. |

Track pressure difference and volume, managing gas that can create inactive areas or locks.
Evaluate recovered liquid and hold-up; an integrated disposable capsule is not a replaceable membrane holder.
Hold-up depends on the particular internal path and housing geometry.
No. Membrane grade, integrity methods and evidence for the actual fluid and process must be considered together.
