A high-flow depth element captures particles within thick or multilayer media, combining throughput needs with particulate loading. Internal voids can distribute a range of particle sizes, but usable capacity depends on particle shape, size distribution and liquid viscosity. Different models can use different formats and flow directions; bag-format, elongated and pleated elements should not be assumed to share an interface.
| Selection factor | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Particle distribution | Layered capture can suit broad distributions; sticky or compressible solids need specific trials. |
| System arrangement | Flow, parallel element count and housing losses determine the operating point. |
| Mechanical fit | Match bag or cartridge interfaces and retain required baskets or cores. |

Track processed volume, differential pressure and downstream particles together.
Replace at the pressure or quality limit; flow shocks can disturb retained solids.
Retention distribution depends on media architecture and test conditions, not external appearance.
No. Particle properties and loading largely govern pressure growth and useful throughput.
